In Austria, the sector Buildings was responsible for 9.13 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 11.8% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (12.95 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 29.5%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 5.0 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
