In Bulgaria, the sub-sector Solid Fuels (part of Energy) was responsible for 0.91 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 1.7% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (2.24 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 59.6%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.07 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
