In Estonia, the sector Energy was responsible for 7.02 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 55.6% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (28.36 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 75.3%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 0.3 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
