Biological treatment of solid waste

In Estonia, the sub-sector Biological treatment of solid waste (part of Waste) was responsible for 0.03 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 0.2% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.005 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 504.8%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.04 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
