Riigis Saksamaa põhjustas allsektor Public electricity and heat production (osa sektorist Energeetika) aastal 2021 212.47 Mt CO₂ekv heitkoguseid, mis moodustab 27.9% selle aasta koguheitkogustest. Võrreldes 1990. aastaga (340.78 Mt CO₂ekv) on heitkogused vähenenud 37.7%. Olemasolevate meetmete korral prognoositakse heitkogusteks 40.91 Mt CO₂ekv aastaks 2050.
