In Finland, the sub-sector Solid Waste Disposal (part of Waste) was responsible for 1.47 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 3.1% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (4.85 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 69.7%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.43 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
