U usporedbi s 1990. godinom (67.2 Mt CO₂eq), emisije su smanjene za 37%. Prema postojećim mjerama, predviđa se da će emisije iz ovog sektora dosegnuti 5.8 Mt CO₂eq do 2050. godine.
