In Latvia, the sector Energy was responsible for 1.55 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 14.4% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (6.59 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 76.5%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 0.5 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
