Solid waste disposal

In Portugal, the sub-sector Solid waste disposal (part of Waste) was responsible for 4.05 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 7.3% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (2.94 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 37.6%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 1.16 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
