Solid Waste Disposal

In Portugal, the sub-sector Solid Waste Disposal (part of Waste) was responsible for 3.86 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 6.8% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (3.16 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 22%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 1.12 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
