În Italia, sectorul Energie a fost responsabil de 92.34 Mt CO₂ech emisii în anul 2021, ceea ce reprezintă 22.8% din emisiile totale în acel an. Comparativ cu 1990 (152.32 Mt CO₂ech), emisiile au scăzut cu 39.4%. În cadrul măsurilor existente, emisiile din acest sector sunt estimate să ajungă la 40.4 Mt CO₂ech până în 2050.
