In Romania, the sector Buildings was responsible for 12.81 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 11.1% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (10.61 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 20.8%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 13.6 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
