In Spain, the sector Buildings was responsible for 26.46 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 9.2% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (17.93 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 47.6%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 16.0 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
