Incineration and open burning of waste

In Sweden, the sub-sector Incineration and open burning of waste (part of Waste) was responsible for 0.13 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 0.3% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.04 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 193.8%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.12 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
