In Bulgaria, the sub-sector Residential (part of Buildings) was responsible for 1.19 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 2.2% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (3.2 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 62.9%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.85 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
