In Cyprus, the sector Waste was responsible for 0.66 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 7.7% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.44 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 52.2%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 0.4 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
