In Cyprus, the sub-sector Solid waste disposal (part of Waste) was responsible for 0.57 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 6.6% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.3 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 91.8%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.49 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
