In Cyprus, the sub-sector Solid Waste Disposal (part of Waste) was responsible for 0.57 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 6.7% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.3 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 93.7%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.32 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
