In Czechia, the sub-sector Biological Treatment of Solid Waste (part of Waste) was responsible for 0.8 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 0.7% of total emissions in that year. This category had no recorded emissions in 1990. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.99 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
