In France, the sub-sector Solid waste disposal (part of Waste) was responsible for 11.48 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 2.7% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (12.56 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 8.6%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 4.96 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
