In Hungary, the sector Buildings was responsible for 10.96 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 17.5% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (21.34 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 48.7%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 5.1 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
