In Hungary, the sector Buildings was responsible for 11.9 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 18.5% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (19.69 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 39.6%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 5.2 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
