In Hungary, the sub-sector Residential (part of Buildings) was responsible for 8.88 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 13.8% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (16.76 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 47%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 3.08 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.

What is part of this sector? Emissions from fuel consumption (e.g. heating and cooking) in residential buildings. This sub-sector also includes emissions from mobile sources such as snow groomers and snowmobiles.
