Incineration and open burning of waste

In Italy, the sub-sector Incineration and open burning of waste (part of Waste) was responsible for 0.18 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 0.045% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.6 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 69.3%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.19 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
