In Lithuania, the sector Waste was responsible for 0.89 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 4.4% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (1.69 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 47.1%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 0.3 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
