In Lithuania, the sector Waste was responsible for 0.77 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 3.9% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (1.34 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 42.6%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 0.2 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
