Oil and Natural Gas

In Portugal, the sub-sector Oil and Natural Gas (part of Energy) was responsible for 1.01 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 1.8% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.06 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 1,631.4%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.94 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
