In Slovakia, the sector Energy was responsible for 7.48 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 18.2% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (21.66 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 65.5%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 5.9 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
