In Slovakia, the sub-sector Petroleum Refining (part of Energy) was responsible for 1.53 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 3.7% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (2.88 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 47%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 1.58 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
