In Greece, the sub-sector Enteric Fermentation (part of Agriculture) was responsible for 4.05 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 5.2% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (4.6 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 12%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 5.45 Mt CO₂eq by 2040.
