Biological treatment of solid waste

In Slovakia, the sub-sector Biological treatment of solid waste (part of Waste) was responsible for 0.3 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 0.7% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (0.11 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have increased by 160.6%. Under existing measures, emissions are projected to reach 0.49 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
